Kassian will be back in tonight, I assume Missiaen will get the start again as well and it will be the first home game for Lomas, who has a goal and an assist and a fight in his first three games as a Pete.

Nov 5 - Petes/Rangers |
Lead | |

This should be an interesting game. The Rangers have been the best team in the OHL so far this season, they still only have 1 regulation loss. They've
lost a couple guys to injury lately (Kelly being the big loss on the back end, Fanelli being the most obvious). The Petes have been playing pretty well
lately, finding a way to win games that in years past they would find a way to lose. As long as the Petes keep winning the divisional games vs.
Ottawa/Belleville/Oshawa, they should be in pretty good shape to win the East division, tonight will be a real test though to see how well they fare against
one of the best from the West.

Wont be easy, but I will say Petes win tonight 4-3. Kass with a big game after missing last night's game.

This is going to bee a tough test for the petes tonight coming off a big win last night. Does anybody wonder how the Rangers are already a top 5 team in Canada
after going to the Memorial Cup 2 years ago? And the petes are on there 4 year since and have a .500 record to show for it? I know we lost jordan staal and
Bogo to but Kitchener lost Mikkel Boedker and Josh bailey after 2 years as well... they could both be on this years team. It makes you think what you can do
with the right GM.

Bailey never played for Kitchener, he played for Owen Sound then Windsor.

Remember (those who were on the board then) when we all hoped to get Dan Kelly or Robert Bortuzzo for Downie? Instead we got Yves Bastien...

^ that trade was an absolute fleece job. Something Twohey should have been let go over. Not to mention the Ryder to Plymouth trade.

My bad on the Bailey comment, for some reason i always thought he was a ranger but still the point is Kitchener made smart hockey moves and they are right back
as a top contender 2 years after the mem cup. Whereas the petes whom had 2 ohl superstars (downie, and Ryder) had a chance to rebuild with a lot of talent,
clearly didnt work out as much. Also with the cann trade last year i remember reading on the NOOF the london fans were all upset "if" they had to
include Varone in the deal. Instead the petes got smith who has been made of glass since he has been here.
With that said Lets Go Petes, ... heres hoping Kassian will be rested up and ready for this big game! |

tonight was one of the best games the petes have played all year. For once they managed to play a full 60 minutes it was really fun to watch. Kitchener got
some pretty lucky bounces to get there goals like the second pp goal that was blocked and went right back out to there guy with missian down and out. The petes
deserved to win this game.

I thought the Petes played well enough to win but that 5 on 3 late in the 2nd killed the momentum the Petes had going. The penalty on Buonomo was tough,
obviously, it was a penalty but there should have been one called seconds earlier on Kitchener when their player had a hold of Buonomo's stick for a good 5
seconds. Buonomo then was frustrated and takes the stupid penalty in the corner.
Missiaen had some bad luck last night as well, he couldn't seem to freeze the puck and a couple of the Rangers goals it looked like he hadit covered up, only for the puck to squirt out into the slot and then end up in the back of the net. |

Yes there should have been a penalty while Buonomos stick was being held, bad no call by the ref.

Buonomo, like any other player, needs to pick his spots. Already killing a penalty and then takes the second penalty to put the team down 5 on 3. Kitchener
scored on both the first and second of those penalties. McRea even mentions the penalty in the Examiner interview.
Then early in the 3rd, Buonomo gets in trouble in his own end, North West corner, gives away the puck with a half hearted pass around the net that HITS THE NET and gets picked off by Kitchener and turns into a goal. Tough night for Buonomo. He takes too many penalties for crosschecking etc. by the way he plays. Even though he is small, he needs to find a way to contain the opposition forwards without taking so many penalties. |

Is anyone else with me when say I think it's time to get rid of Tatrn? I would rather see a kid like Wise who has alot of heart play for this team over
Tatrn.

NextSeason wrote: The concerning part to me is he simply doesn't seem to get it. That's the 3rd, hard hit from behind in the past 2-3 weeks. Last season with the Stars he 82 minutes in minor penalties in 33 games. HockeyDude wrote: Tatrn needs to go to a struggling team where he'll get a chance on a top 2 line to show what he can do. The injury, and then lack of ice time when he returned has hurt his career here. NV said it on the NOOF, and I agree, he's not a 4th line player, the only way he'll be successful is in an offencive role. Twohey should do the right thing and give the kid a chance to get his game back together. As for Larson, might not be a popular choice, but I'd move him to the 3rd in West's spot. West doesn't do anything for me, and outside of the first week of games, that line has become very inconsistent. I think Larson is just as good defencively as West, but he's a better scorer and passer and likely would help get Walchessen and Quesnele going more consistently. Larson is better then a 4th line player here. |

Petes did not play tonight, but Kingston, Belleville and Oshawa all lost, Ottawa won but they are still 9th in the East, Belleville 10th. Kingston did pick up
a point in a SO loss.
Oshawa fell to 7th in the East, they have also now lost 6 in a row and are in Windsor Sunday. |

I don't think Larson is good defensively. I don't understand why the coach put Larson out with 2 in the penalty box, he just stands there and watches
the play. He has played well offensively lately, but overall I think he's a 4th liner.
